Shopify Printing

Settings → Shopify Printing shapes the packing slip PDF that Assemblified adds to Shopify’s Print menu — Packing slip with BOM details. See Shopify admin extensions for where that slip is printed from; this page is what goes on it.

Three sections: what the slip shows, how a multi-order print is combined, and the footer.

  • Packing slip display options
  • Bulk packing slip printing
  • PDF footer
  • Saving

Each switch adds something to the slip. Show SKU column and Show company info on PDF are on out of the box; the rest are off.

SwitchWhat it adds
Show SKU columnThe SKU column in the material tables and in the other-items table
Show unit costThe cost per unit for each material
Show unit priceThe selling price per unit for each material
Show total costUnit cost × quantity for each material
Show total priceUnit price × quantity for each material
Show material notesEach raw material’s notes field, as the last column
Show original item priceThe BOM section price, and a price column for non-BOM order items
Show weightEach component’s line weight, plus a total weight
Show material imagesEach material’s image as a round thumbnail in the first column, not a full-size product photo
Only print unfulfilled itemsSkips line items that are already fulfilled. A partially fulfilled line prints only the remaining quantity.
Show order notesThe Shopify order note, in a full-width section above the item tables
Group by sub-assemblyLists each assembly billSub-assemblyA reusable assembly block that composes into bigger bills: define it once, include it in any bill of materials, and Assemblified expands it into its own components at execution time. The app now calls it an assembly bill. Read more → ’s materials under its own bold title, instead of merging everything into one list
Show checkbox columnAn empty checkbox as the last column of every table, so the slip can be ticked off as a packing checklist
Show company info on PDFYour company address and contact details, from Company

When you select several orders in the Shopify orders list and print, Bulk print mode decides what comes out:

  • Separate slips — one packing slip per order, one after another in a single PDF. This is the default.
  • Merged slip — all the selected orders summed into one consolidated slip, with quantities combined. The slip keeps its structure: one section per bill of materials (with the number of kits ordered) plus an Other items table for the lines that are not a BOM.
  • Merged item list — all the selected orders summed into one alphabetical list. Every BOM is broken down into its components, the components and the ordinary order lines are added up per item, and there are no sections. Four kits that each contain a pear, plus an order line for two more pears, print as one row: Yellow Pear 6.

Separate is the packing mode: one sheet per parcel. Merged slip is the picking-run mode when you assemble kit by kit: it tells you what goes into each box. Merged item list is the shopping-list mode: it tells you how much of each item you need in total for the whole batch, which is what you buy or pull against. The item list ignores pick locations and the Group by sub-assembly option (there are no sections to group), prints cost and price columns from the raw material’s unit values rather than from the order lines, keeps every BOM line note on an item (joined, since there is no section to tell them apart), and is also used when you select a single order in the orders list. Because ordinary order lines sit in the same table, the total weight is only shown when every row has a weight.

Free text printed at the bottom of every slip — return instructions, a thank-you line, a VAT note.

The editor supports bold, italic, left/centre/right alignment and a fixed set of text colours. The first line is printed as a larger title in the footer, so put the heading on its own line and the detail underneath.

Everything on this page is one form. Changes are held until you press Save on the bar that appears, and leaving with unsaved edits asks first.
