Home page
Opening Assemblified from Apps → Assemblified lands you on the home page. It is built around one thing: a search field that finds anything in the app by name or by number. Above it sit your catalogue counts, below it whatever still needs your attention, and at the foot four ways to get help.

Your catalogue at a glance
Section titled “Your catalogue at a glance”A bar across the top of the page carries four counts:
- Bills of materials, how many you have
- Assembly bills, how many you have
- Raw materials, how many you have
- Open work orders, every work order that is not completed or cancelled
Each one is a link. Clicking a count opens the matching list, and Open work orders opens the work-order list already filtered to the same set the number was counted from, so the list and the number always agree.
The counts arrive a moment after the page frame does, and they land in the space already reserved for them, so nothing on the page jumps while you read it.
Search
Section titled “Search”Under the greeting sits the search field, placeholder “Search anything you want or talk with our AI Assistant”. It searches names and identifiers across the whole app:
| It finds | By |
|---|---|
| Bills of materials | name, SKU, product name, variant name |
| Assembly bills | name, SKU |
| Raw materials | product and variant name, SKU, vendor |
| Work orders | name, work-order number, purchase-order number |
| Saved views and groups | name |
Results appear as you type, grouped by kind in a fixed order, with at most five results per group. When a group has more, a Show all in … row at the foot of it opens the full list.
Matches are found anywhere inside a word, not only at the start, so acket finds Steel bracket. Numbers and dashed codes work as typed: SB-100 finds the SKU, 1042 finds the work order.
What a result opens:
- A bill of materials, assembly bill, raw material or work order opens its own detail page.
- A saved view opens the bill-of-materials list on that view.
- A group opens the bill-of-materials list filtered to that group.
Everything works from the keyboard: ↓ and ↑ move through the results while your cursor stays in the field, Enter opens the highlighted one, Esc closes the list. Results are ordinary links, so you can also open one in a new tab.
As soon as you type, an Ask AI button appears inside the field, next to the clear control. It opens the AI assistant full screen with your text already sent as the first message.
Finish setup
Section titled “Finish setup”While setup is unfinished, a Finish setup · 3 of 5 pill sits first in the row under the search field. Clicking it expands the setup guide inline, right there on the page. For a brand new shop that has done nothing yet, the guide is already open.
The guide is a card with a progress bar and all five steps in view:
| Step | What it asks for | Where you do it |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Set your default location, the Shopify location Assemblified adjusts component inventory at | Right here in the step: pick it and press Save location |
| 2 | Review your sync preferences, how cancellations, refunds and multi-location adjustments are handled | Open settings takes you to Settings → General |
| 3 | Create your first bill of materials, the list of components one finished product is built from | Open bills of materials takes you to the Finished goods page |
| 4 | Link a bill of materials to a product, which is what lets orders consume its components | The same page, through the same button |
| 5 | Add your raw materials, the stock Assemblified draws down when an order comes in | Open raw materials |
Assemblified ticks each step itself once it can see the work is done. There is nothing to check off by hand and nothing you can accidentally mark complete. Completed steps are struck through; only the step you are on carries a sentence and a button, so the card never turns into a wall of instructions. Step 1 is completed on the home page itself and every other step’s button takes you to the page where the task belongs.
If saving the default location fails, the reason appears inside the card rather than as a notification that disappears.
Once all five steps are done the card becomes a single Setup complete line, with the last order Assemblified processed and when it last confirmed its connection to Shopify’s order notifications, plus a dismiss control. Dismissing removes the guide from the home page for good. It is only offered once every step is complete, so an unfinished setup cannot be hidden by accident.
What needs attention
Section titled “What needs attention”The row under the search field carries the counts that are waiting for you, beside the Finish setup pill rather than after it. Both kinds of pill show from the start: an unfinished setup never hides work that is already piling up.
- Low stock · N, bills of materials whose components are running out
- Not linked · N, BOMsBill of MaterialsA bill of materials tells Assemblified how to build one unit of a finished good. When a customer orders the finished-good variant, Assemblified deducts the right component quantities from inventory automatically. Read more → with no Shopify variant behind them
- Failed executions · N, order processing that failed in the last seven days
A pill appears only when its count is above zero, so an empty row means there is nothing waiting. Each one opens the matching list, filtered to exactly the set it counted, or the execution log for failed executions.
Getting help
Section titled “Getting help”Four cards close the page:
| Card | Button | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Documentation | Open docs | This documentation site |
| Tutorials | Watch tutorials | Short videos on setup and daily use |
| Walkthrough | Book a call | Thirty minutes with us to set your shop up together |
| Support | Write an email | Our support inbox. Write to us and we will get back to you |
All four open outside the app, in a new tab or your mail client.
Where to next
Section titled “Where to next”- Initial setup explains the five setup steps in detail, and the settings behind step 2.
- Build your first BOM walks through steps 3 to 5, end to end.
- AI assistant covers what the assistant can answer once you hand a search over to it.
